Automobiles in German City Discovered Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police Confirm

Roughly fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Cars, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a statement.

Police report they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.

The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Police then found numerous other smeared automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Officials state initial examinations indicate the substance was likely blood from a person.

"There is still no lead as to where it came from; officials are presently not cognizant of any harm in connection with the event," they added.

Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to solve the case" and have appealed to the residents for information.

A senior political figure said the incident rendered him stunned and needed to be solved quickly.

"This incident affects the very heart of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he stated on a platform, referring to the death of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
