Major Russian Attacks Eliminate Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while local people in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and encountered problems to drinking water, as stated by city officials.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, according to local officials.

Moscow has intensified strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"What's needed is not window dressing but strong steps - from the United States, the EU and the G7 - in delivering protection systems and applying restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen projectiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A series of attacks struck electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people hurt in the attacks on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area endured heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and three other people were hurt.

The assaults succeed evenings of air raids in the area, parts of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The entire country is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to identify.

National leaders told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were preparing for further attacks.
