19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hardcourt

A resurgent the Russian player won his initial title for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a former number one, has endured a challenging year, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-term coach Cervara.

Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This marks his first title after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since that period of the previous year.

The win also indicates Medvedev has won 21 championships at 21 different events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his past six finals, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.

His defensive play style and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted commentators to doubt if his capacity to perform at the elite level was concluded.

But the player has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and play positively, reinforced by an improved serving game.

He came back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

The competitors swapped breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial professional title, seized the initiative to push for a decider.

The opponent defended four early opportunities in a competitive third set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.

Suitably, he secured the title with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
